We are delighted to announce a partnership between Ipsos MORI, leaders in social research and evaluation, and The Strategy Unit, an NHS unit dedicated to improving health outcomes through analysis. The partnership brings together a multi-disciplinary team from both organisations to offer our clients a wide range of expertise and further enhance the impact that our work has – in the NHS and beyond.
Our partnership is a natural fit. We share an interest in undertaking high quality, applied research supported by rigorous analysis and a deep understanding of evidence. We recognise that it is not enough merely to produce outputs that are innovative and help to change perspectives; in the rapidly changing and frequently ambiguous world of health and social care, leaders need reliable and actionable information to support their decision making. So, our advisory work is focused on translating insight into change and providing the practical support needed to make this happen.
Our organisations have complementary strengths. Together, we offer:
Ipsos MORI and The Strategy Unit are already delivering a range of significant projects in collaboration, for example large-scale, high-profile national evaluations for Macmillan Cancer Support and NHS England / Improvement.
And this microsite launches our offer of support for implementing person-centred measures at system, organisation and service level, to help health and care systems focus on the needs of the people they serve.
There has never been a time when high quality analysis is more needed to address the challenges facing health and social care – analysis in all its forms, quantitative and qualitative, and analysis that addresses patient and public perspectives as well as demand and utilisation patterns.
The Strategy Unit and Ipsos MORI are both acknowledged experts in analysis and bring complementary skills and perspectives. We work really well together, founded in mutual respect for each other’s expertise and our shared values and passion to make a difference. We do all this at NHS rates too, so terrific value for the public purse! But most importantly analysis is just a route to making decisions effectively and to improving health and care. So our shared emphasis is on insight and supported decision making – enabling the people we work with to make the best choices possible.
Peter Spilsbury, Director of the Strategy Unit
We’re excited by the possibilities that the partnership with The Strategy Unit offers. We’re constantly looking for ways to help our clients solve their problems and make better decisions. The Strategy Unit are natural partners for us, sharing our desire to use high quality analysis to meet the challenges our clients are facing. Our collaboration brings together a unique blend of skills that is already making a difference to the delivery of health and social care.
